Corrosion leads to millions of dollars of damage to our power grid each year. SPI provides coating solutions to protect towers, transfer stations, and key power systems. Our polyurea is even used by power companies on their service vehicles to provide longer service life, and reduce repair costs.
Electrical transformers are a critical component of our power grid, but have been known to explode during extreme events. SPI worked with the US Department of Defense to develop spray applied blast mitigation polyurea coatings. These same polyurea coatings are now available for commercial use, and can help protect workers and the environment, during these types of accidents.
Delivering minimal service disruption and downtime, we provide polyurea containment liners that can be pre-sprayed geo-textile sheets, or spray-in-place polyurea under an existing transformer or a transformer station. If there was ever a leak of the transformer oils, our polyurea liner protects the environment, safely containing the spill, while cleanup and repairs are made.
Above ground power poles are crucial to provide electrical service to millions of customers. The use of our polyureas and polyurethane foam products to protect and retrofit essential power grid parts, enables power companies to safeguard critical electrical infrastructure.
